View Full Version : Bio-engineering - if you could be modified would you ?
After my Saturday night/Sunday morning drinking/hangover experience this weekend I was thinking wouldn't it be handy if I could have 2 extra kidneys an extra liver and a bigger bladder fitted. It would make life so much easier.
What would you have done ?
Memory capacity increased to more than, er....., what was the question?
I'd have my memory capacity enlargened, (new word alert  ), as I get fed up of writing things down, then forgetting to read the notes that I write to remind me not to forget things. Sometimes I forget that I forget everything and forget to write anything down in the first place.
how about a redesigned eye, one that's actually efficient.
and ears with a overload cutout so that you can't be deafened.
Distributed organs so that a single pointy object can't ruin one of them.
Stronger bones and muscles.
Faster healing, higher injury resistance.
Ability to withstand extremes of temperature and to hibernate.
immortality (or freedom from aging more specifically) of course.
How about a small pair of gills somewhere unobtrusive, make swimming a damn site easier, and drowning a damn site harder.
Cells (or nano tech) designed to mop up harmful chemicals from the air in your lungs and from your blood, making you more resistant to poisoning...
those are just of the top of my head.
Nah....I'll stick with what I've got.
I'm practically perfect in every way, anyway. ;)
Although...dodgy knees...most people I know (me included) have dodgy knees....so can we have some improvements there? Maybe some sort of universal joint that will make cruciate ligament problems a thing of the past?

Swan_Vesta 11-07-2005, 11:44 An Adamantium exoskelton (complete with groovy wolverine claws) to include teeth as well which I'd leave metalic with the incisors just a little bit too long.
That'd scare the s*** out of people :hihi:
The ability to stop hair growing (wherever) would be a great help too, it would save a fortune in shaving products and save time.

My knees are shot. When I walk up stairs it sounds like I have gravel behind my kneecaps and occasionally it makes the most horrific pop. :(
I want new knees. Anyone know anything that can be done?
Other than bio-engineering that is :)

electrolysis can provide permanent hair removal. The problem is then that you can never change your mind.

And it would take for ever to have your entire head done, and be very expensive/painfull.

you want to do your whole head? I thought you might be just talking about your chin and face.
Not sure about costs, never looked into it.
If it were a couple of hundred quid and took a day to do, over your lifetime it would save you more in both money and time.
evildrneil 11-07-2005, 12:01 Reverse the aging process then you can go to school and moan at the teachers with impunity, work through your middle age and retire when you are young enough to enjoy it!

Yeah, been taking them for the last year or so . It's made a bit of a difference but they still give me grief - maybe a trip to the quacks is in order.
Yet another sign I'm not the same SV as I was when I was 18.
Bunch of arse :(

Yeah, I was kneeling on the floor on Sunday playing lego with my mates daughter, after an hour I couldn't get up I had to roll over and lay on the floor until my knees unlocked. Sad realy.

It scares me - and I don't even understand what it is! :surprised
