Where did they go?
Can anyone tell us. One minute they were there and the next they were gone and I have never seen anything written about them since.
The Godfrey Sykes ones or the Mappin Art Gallery ones?

I think it may have been my fault.
I scratched my arm badly on them, I still have the scar.
We complained to the council.
Then they were gone.

HEY!!!! This (http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/out--about/parks-woodlands--countryside/development--regeneration-projects/have-your-say-on-weston-park) suggests there'll be new gates :suspect:
Are you referring to the bottom entrance on weston Bank? If so I seem to remember that they stolen one night, Must have been a strong burglar!
Strix
The ones that were next to Firth Hall.

They're the ones that got stolen. How you can just walk off with a walloping great piece of ornamental ironwork without anybody noticing beats me. Anyway they've been gone for a few years now so I reckon the chances of seeing them again are pretty much nil.

Thanks for the pictures they were great.
What a pair of beauties, sadly missed.
What a mystery, somebody out there must know where they are.

At the time they were stolen there was a lot of building work going on on the side of the uni building in the park, so there were lorries coming and going through and around that gateway. So turn up with a truck and lifting gear, and look as though you've every right to be there and who'll notice?
Hmmm, I wonder if they've been registered on any of the 'reclamation theft' websites they have now? (and didn't have in '93?
They must be hanging in front of a Chav mansion somewhere
