Hi all

Just thought a quick mention about Brief Encounter at the Lyceum might be of interest here, as it's an adaptation of a classic British film that's been turned into a very remarkable piece of theatre, using film projection, clever set design and the classic songs of Noel Coward. You can watch a trailer of the show online here: www.seebriefencounter.com (http://www.seebriefencounter.com) or take a look at our thread over at Evenings Out for more info: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=485629

'An absolute triumph. Moving, funny, jaw-droppingly inventive. It’s the best evening I’ve spent in the theatre in months'

Went to see it last night, very good how they used the film on stage.

I went to see it too, and though I found the staging really innovative, it just didn't do it for me. I will stick to my dvd for now...

I saw this at the Lyceum and I thought it was great. I loved the staging of it, how they blended film with live actors.

I especially liked the boating scene where he fell overboard and they threw a little water - you had to be there!

The actors were playing music in the audience before the show too. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
