I'm looking for around £100 for it. 512mb memory expansion Charger Cables Software (All the programs Ir needed are already installed) Hard case to protect from damage. This link takes you to someone on ebay selling one but I have the extras mentioned above and you won't have to pay for delivery! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3732&item=5788295766&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Have PM'd you as well Joelc 10-07-2005, 12:21 www.expansys.co.uk HP Range are very good, and good value for money, especally the 4000 series range. Might be worth asking her what she wants it for, If its just note taking, then maybe you should stretch and get a laptop,. Although PDA's are incredably useful for storing the uni timetable, so you know exactly what lectures your missing whilst sat in the pub ;) Joel alchresearch 10-07-2005, 12:53 I agree with Joel. PDAs are very good, but it is sometimes very hard to find a valid use for them, other than an occasional gadget or toy, especially as many don't have a proper keyboard. I've been collecting portable computers and PDA since the early 80's and would suggest that if it's for typing on the move, consider an Alphasmart or even an old Amstrad NC-100, the latter you can get on ebay for just a few pounds. Vini 11-07-2005, 07:42 i use an ipaq 4150, the only thing i find it useful for is TomTom... for typing/studies i would have thought a cheap £300 laptop would be better? Cyclone 11-07-2005, 08:11 i've got a pda now, doubt i'd have been able to use it for much at uni though. A laptop would be much more useable. If she insists, i'd recommend the dell axim range, good value for money. Vini 11-07-2005, 08:34 the major problem with pdas is they have zero ability to write quickly... Lurch 11-07-2005, 09:25 I'd go for a laptop over a PDA for notetaking and general student tasks. My PDA was purchased for sat nav, it just happens to do loads of other things. But, it's definitely not a laptop replacement, handy for when you don't want to fire up the laptop to just send a quick email but if you only have one of the two devices, make it a laptop, I couldn't think of anything worse to try and write documents on, and to plug a printer into it would cost a fair few quid whereas a laptop will have a printer port at least. Some people just see someone else with something shiney and decide that they need one but don't actually know why, which I think is what's happened here. |
