hi can anyone help me when im on msn messinger these links
keep comming up: it opens up messages with all my online contacts and then send a message from me saying some and then giveing a link. I have done a virus scan with avg a got rid of the viruses but it still happens what should i do

I've heard of this happening before....ages ago.

In your Privacy options on Messenger, do you have the Only People on my Allow Lists can see my status and contact me box checked?

I have a feeling it's spammers.....used to get them in the old msn chat rooms....all it really means is that you'll probably get loads of crap in your inbox from now on....lol

i have done that still keeps comming up

My best suggestion is to install a spyware removal program (such as Spybot Search & destroy or Adaware, which can be downloaded for free from www.download.com) and then get them up to date. Also ensure you anti-virus software is totally up to date.

Then start your PC in safe mode (press F8 during boot up and choose safe mode), and run the spyware tool from safe-mode. (this helps to identify spyware that 'pretends' it is a system file)

Run a virus check in Safe mode also (for the same reason)

Be aware that this spyware has been known to be tricky to remove, as it disguises itself well in the system files.

try disabling the messaging service.


1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Administration Tools.
3. Double-click Services.
4. Double-click Messenger.
5. In the Startup type list, click Disabled.
6. Click Stop, and then click OK.


(you can still use msn)

still comming up I dont know what to do
