Did you see the Panorama Programme on Sunday 26th June called 'Dead Mum's Don't Cry', about maternal mortality in Chad and the work of Dr. Grace Kodindo?

Women in this African country are dying hand over fist in childbirth for want of simple drugs and equipment. Things like pre-eclampsia and botched abortions on teenage girls are causing innumerable deaths. Dr. Grace was like a 'saint' trying to treat these people and save lives and I was very moved by her dedication.
