[ CIRCULAR WALK WHICH STARTS AT HERDINGS, THEN GOES UP TO RIDGEWAY AND CHARNOCK HALL. THIS IS APPARENTLY AN EASY WALK, HOWEVER THERE ARE SOME STILES TO GO OVER. THERE ARE ALSO SOME SHORT BUT STEEP STEPS AND IT MAYBE MUDDY IN PARTS. THE FULL WALK IS 4 MILES HOWEVER THERE IS A 2 MILE DROP OUT POINT AT RIDGEWAY.

START TIME:6.30PM (due to it being further out of town and a new walk)
[/SIZE]

TRANSPORT THE PURPLE ROUTE TRAM FROM TOWN TO HERDINGS LEIGHTON ROAD
BUS 252
CAR PARKING ON BOWMAN DRIVE.

I am sure there will be a drink somewhere, I think there is a pub at Ridgeway at least but not sure. Though I do think someone in the group will know somewhere in the area.

What's it matter how many there are? Someone has gone to a great deal of trouble to arrange and plan a walk, and if only 2 people turn up then it's still a group walk, albeit a small one isn't it?
Bear in mind though, as the walk starts a fair way from town it's not going to be as popular as the ones which start in the town centre, which we can't do every time as there aren't enough of them!
In actual fact, if you look at the posts you'll see there's probably about 8 people going tonight, not including you.

Hope you all enjoyed the walk....there have been no posts yet so either you are all having a great time in the pub or you've got lost and are having a "Deliverance" moment :-)

Lovely walk in some interesting countryside, and absolutely fantastic after weeks of sticking to the set routes to keep up the Group tradition of getting lost now and again!
Well, not actually lost, just not on the right route, never saw the Norman church, also got the wrong pub! But hey, who cares when you're having fun with a great bunch of people. Tonights crew were Village Owl, Hemlock, Mr Hemlock, Gryphon, Mrs Gryphon, Billysmum, Eclaire and Scoobz.
Cheers Eclaire for leading us (or was it me?) and for giving us a laughter filled evening. You're a treasure!

Thanks for a lovely walk everyone. Nice to walk a route so near home I've never been before. It was lovely to see Gryphon & Mrs Gryphon on the walk - hope we will see you both on many more walks!
I think the quote of the evening was when Eclaire was looking round the other side of a hedge to see if it was the right way, she proclaimed 'Well, there's something over here that look like........something!' & to think taxpayers have paid good money.....:hihi:
