View Full Version : Fitted bedroom furniture - Floor 2 Ceiling
We've just had a quote for fitted bedroom furniture from a sheffield based company called "Floor 2 Ceiling" (shop up near the mad greek).
Has anyone else had work done by them and if so what was it like (ie quality, accuracy, speed, etc...)?
We had some wardrobes with sliding doors done by them about 5 years ago and the quality was very good. It WAS expensive (couldn't afford it now the kids are here!) but both the product and the fitters were great.
You could ask Coggy or Fnkysknky for a quote and see how their suppliers for such stuff compare

maybe i should pm them.... certainly wouldn't hurt to get an idea.
we have Sharps coming tonight to get a quote from them, but suspect it will be more.
Hi Cyclone,
Did you manage to get the fitted bedroom furniture you were looking for?
We are in the process of trying to get some fitted wardrobes ourself and was wondering if i could have some feedback of your experience?
ultracynic 01-09-2005, 20:43 a friend of mine had something done for her bedroom in west.one and it was very poor for the money in both of our opinions.
i would highly recommed Nolte wardrobe systems.
they sell these in john lewis but you can get them in the co-op sale. you can get diff sizes to fill an entire wall. fitting is free and you can pay for them to be dismantled and refitted when you move house.

The fitters come on Tuesday, the plasterer finished yesterday.
I'll let you know what the wardrobes look like when i get back home a week tomorrow.
J A Horne's Starlight also do fitted wardrobes...they have a showroom on Abbeydale Road.
I would recommend them too...no harm in getting them to quote!
:D

We had a look round their showroom a few months back, and to be honest, weren't that impressed with the standards of wardrobes on display. This was hammered home when we looked round the Supafit showroom in Heeley retail park later that afternoon, which was amazing, but somewhat above our budget (but should I ever win the lottery, I know where I'll be buying wardrobes from).
In the end, we bought from IKEA (and given the height of the beasts, they look fitted anyway). Cheaper, solidly built, and easily assembled (providing you don't try and do it alone!) We're certainly more than happy with the result, but it all depends on your confidence with flatpack assembly.
Well the floors 2 ceilings wardrobes have been fitted.
I'm happy with them, they are well built, look pretty much as I expected and seem perfectly solid.
The cost still seems pretty high for what is in effect built from something that closely resembles "conti board" from B&Q, but it was the cheapest of the 4 quotes we had.
I'll put a link to a picture up once the room is finished.
RoyalRegular 20-09-2005, 15:27 We had Floor 2 Ceiling do us some mirrored wardrobes about 15/16 years ago and they're still as good as new. I would strongly recommend them, and they were cheaper than Hornes too.
i have used them on several occasions now and would recommend them, if you need to call them back for tweaking they are happy to do so
Thanks for sharing your experience cyclone.
We, in the meanwhile got fitted wardrobes from JA Horne starlight. They are mirror glasses sliding doors with quite basic layout inside. Surprisingly they said that wooden ones would be nearly three times as costly! The mirrored oned seem pretty decent quality, much cheaper that sharps equivalent. Hopefully they will last as well!I think we are quite satisfied with their work .
Had a fitted bedroom designed and installed by Sharpes a few years ago and they were absolutely brilliant! AND they have half price sales on all the time to clear stock, so give them a try for a quote. I think they have an outlet at Meadowhall Retail Park.
I've just had some bedroom furniture fitted by Floor2Ceiling and the quality of the stuff is very good and the installers were excellent. They make the stuff themselves so will build to fit.
My only quibble was with the designer who hadn't really taken account of some of the peculiarities of our bedroom but he was a squillion percent better than the guy from Sharps who kept telling me what I wanted (which I didn't, eg. dressing table) and telling me I couldn't have what I did want (eg. window seat) which Floor2Ceiling have fitted perfectly fine.
I personally would never recommend Sharps due to the poor sales/designer guy and the fact that they only have standard sizes so can't accommodate more unusual requirements.

Dont open the door to Sharps. They are same company as Dolphin bathrooms & Moben Kitchens. Google them.
They will quote 20k, half it just for you, and knock a bit off if you sign there n then at a price still way above reasonable
ooops- just noticed im a bit late on this
I used to work for floor to ceiling. About 7 years ago. I own dry cleaning shops now. Weird where life takes you eh ?
