Creativesheffield will, once again, be creating a Summer to remember in Sheffield city centre with the return of Wednesday Night Live.

The 2009 programme will see:

•Bars, restaurants and other city centre venues provide special offers on Wednesday evenings between the hours of 5pm and 8pm.

•City centre events.

•Museums Sheffield and the Winter Garden remain open until 8pm throughout the Summer months.

•John Lewis are also open until 8pm and other major retailers, including M&S and TK Maxx, will continue to trade until 7pm every Wednesday due to the success of last years programme.

•All journeys in Sheffield are only £1 after 7pm on First buses - making Sheffield city centre the place to be throughout Summer 2009.

•Hallam FM are showing their support for Wednesday Night Live as the 2009 media partner. Watch out for the street team in Sheffield city centre on Wednesday evenings!

Wednesday Night Live was launched in 2008 with the objectives of creating a lively city centre environment, developing the early evening economy and driving footfall around the city by drawing people into the city after working hours.

A Taster of Events and Offers for Wednesday Night Live 2009

Paul Pashley
The Sheffield born big band singer, will proudly launch Wednesday Night Live 2009 in Leopold Square on 3 June. The man who was booked by Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen to sing at their star-studded wedding and has sung alongside the likes of Beverley Knight at Manchester United’s player awards, will perform two live half hour sets of ‘rat pack’ inspired tracks FREE at 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Manasamitra
In addition, Manasamitra will be back by popular demand after the success of their Indian Summer evening last year. The Indian dance and music group will create an evening of energetic, colourful Bhangra dhol drumming and dancing which will bring a taste of northern India to the Peace Gardens FREE on 3 June from 5.30pm until 7pm.

Sheffield theatres will also be offering ‘Win Ticket Wednesday’s’ - anyone who buys a ticket for a show on a Wednesday will then be automatically entered for the prize draw to win tickets for the following Wednesday show at the Lyceum theatre.
