View Full Version : Pup or young dog wanted by loving family
loopylulu 28-05-2009, 11:14 I am after a pup or young dog to become the latest member of our family.
A loving home is offered with a big garden and 2 other dogs to keep it company.
If you know anybody with any pups or preferably any dog rescue centres then please let me know. (any sheffield websites with may be helpful also)!!
NO STAFFIES PLEASE.
Thanks
EDIT: Would prefer to have a puppy that is free to good home - or that does not cost the earth!!
The Manager 28-05-2009, 22:21 Check pet shop in hillsborough they have adverts in hillsborough sometimes
One or two cross breed pups available at sheffield dog pound. 0114 2930362 to make an appointment (phone number available mon-fri 8am-4pm) viewings available 7days a week.
I've just transferred a lovely jack russell bitch 9 months old to Carlton Forest @ Worksop. Lovely quiet placid little girl.
mummysaz21 29-05-2009, 08:01 so why make a point of putting no staffies in big capital letters, surley they would put a list of breeds they do and dont want and what would consider ect ect, but nope same storey people pointin out staffies yet again the worse breeds ou there what also get into wrong hands there not all bad all dogs should be given a chance regardless of breeds
The choice of dog is for the op to consider - please refrain from attacking other peoples preferences.
mummysaz21 29-05-2009, 08:16 thats just it there wasent a choice, just asking for pups or young dog no metion of what breeds or cros breed would be liked ect, except the big stamp of no staffies guess it must be every dog except a staffy which will be queit hard to get a got without staf in it if its cross bred as the chavs of the world keep cross breeding them
cuddlycats 29-05-2009, 08:25  Fed up of staffy brigade on this board. Yes prob needs to highlighted but not rammed down peoples throats who dont want 1.
mummysaz21 29-05-2009, 08:31 lol the staffie brigade what the hell is that thats funny, i have never ever ever ever liked japanise akitas but i would never turned round and so no o one becouse ther not all bad, personaly the ones i have come across have been very very aggressie, but the reason i wouldent no is becuse i know not all dogs are like that that al im trying to point out, i was never a fan of staffies before i got my cross but purley becouse there to active for me lol, but i never turned round and so no and so glad i dint as now i hav my staff cross, all im saying is give a dog a chance dont judge a breed its not fair
So can we leave the discussion on staffies here please.
mummysaz21 29-05-2009, 08:36 yea no probs would just hate for them to say no cmpletely to one but then there perfect dog for them have a lil staffy in it or along those lines it would be a shame
loopylulu 29-05-2009, 12:22 Edited after seeing willmans post.

I dont know whether she would be two small for my other two dogs - lurcher and alsatian cross - I wouldnt want them to lay on her and squash her - and if shes yappy I couldnt stand it.
Im a little fussy when it comes to pets - you have to be dont you or it would mean lots of unwanted dogs.
She was transferred from Oswaldtwistle to Worksop and never made a sound - so i couldn't vouch for yappy. And tbh she was dainty but not as short as most JRT's.
If you try the links from Rain Rescue you may see some or ring Pam @ Carlton Forest Worksop to see what they have in rescue.(27 i think)
bogwoppit 29-05-2009, 13:00 Pets@home on here has his own rescue and know he has a couple of bigger dogs to rehome at the moment.
good luck

loopylulu 02-06-2009, 18:30 I havent had any luck as yet in finding a pup/young dog - if you can help please, please pm me.
loopylulu 09-06-2009, 17:47 UPDATE:
We have been down to the animal shelter on spring street and have a reserve on a pup. Hopefully we can pick her up at the weekend.
It is truly an eye opener at the animal shelter - the amount of different dogs I have seen down there in the past week is unbelievable.
You really wouldnt think that that many dogs were found on the streets of Sheffield - I would urge anybody looking for a dog to go and have a look at the animal shelter as there are some really lovely dogs down there.
There was a gorgeous young akita there - I would have had it if it wasnt for my other dog not liking bigger dogs - it was beautiful.
I might start another thread about the animal shelter.
cuddlycats 09-06-2009, 17:54 Photos when you get her! What kind of pup is she?

I will put some photos on when we get her - although im new to doing that on here.
We have no idea what kind of pup she is - neither do the shelter!! Dont even know how old she is!!
We think she has some collie in her, she is small and has needle sharp teeth so she must be really young - she is black with a white stomach and brindle paws - really cute!!!!!

Thanks.
Both the dogs we have now were from a rescue centre.
There are some really lovely dogs in the pound - I just cant believe that people dont reclaim them and some just throw them out and worse - Its awful!!
loopylulu 13-06-2009, 17:13 MODS: can you please close or remove this thread please as I now have a pup.
I will start a new thread with the pics.
Thanks
