I'm actually posting this on behalf of a couple that a friend of mine knows.

These people are moving at the end of this week and need a home for their cat, Boyo.

Boyo is about 7 years old (he was a stray when he came to them so his exact age isn't known). He sounds like a really easy going cat in that he doesn't mind if he goes outside or stays in.

I believe he is neutered but I don't know his vaccination history (judging on what my friend has told me, he doesn't have one). I also have no idea what he's like with other animals or children, nor whether he will allow grooming.

The people he's with at present live at Norton.

I don't normally manage to get on here very often, but if anyone thinks they might be interested and might want to offer him a home, please post a response to this post and I'll do my best to check back after work tomorrow.

I'd not be posting this but it's urgent and they're talking about putting to sleep an otherwise fit and healthy cat. Please help if you can, or if anyone knows of someone that wants a cat please let me know.

I already have two cats myself and don't want to commit to another. My friend who I got the information from also has a multi-cat household and can't take on another at present.

Thanks for reading.

Have they tried the RSPCA rehoming service?? Think this would be preferable to having it put to sleep!! :(

Most animal charities are chock-a-block at this time of year because of kittens, but they put them to sleep anyway now.

Hope you manage to get this cat sorted - I would help but with 4 of my own really couldnt take on another permanently.

Timewarper It's really kind of you to try and help this cat, and thanks for trying to cover the re-homing form requirements as best you can.

I wonder if it might be better to try and secure a temp home for him and re-home from there if no shelter will take him? its really sad that the couples little friend means so little to them they could put him to sleep so easily :(

I really don't understand people who deliberately move somewhere that won't accept their animals. I have a friend in Leeds desperately looking for somewhere to go that'll take her cat as she'd never give him up. I'm sure there's always somewhere you can find.

Is there anymore information on this cat? We have two males, both neutered, one nervous, one confident. The eldest came to us as a stray and the youngest we acquired from the forum, he's been with us for about two months. They don't completely get on yet. I'm just wondering if anyone knows yet if he gets on with other moggies and cat loving children?

I think he has lived with other cats in the past but he seems to be their only one at the moment. As to kids, I don't know if the people concerned have got any. I'm just trying to get some more info from my friend (I don't know if she's met Boyo herself of if the info I have was just relayed second/third hand). When I know a bit more I'll let you know.

Do you think there's a chance you might want a third cat for your house if he fulfils all the criteria?

It's not a bad idea and one that I'll suggest my friend passes on to the current people. Thanks for that :)
