Hi everyone
I've just watched the program on BBC 3 ' my weapon is a dog'.
It really did upset me, just watching these poor dogs being more-or-less abused.
It's really opened my eyes about illegal dog fighting, and I really feel that we need to try to do something about it.
I'm at a bit of a loss where to start or who to contact to try to help.
Any ideas?

I was once out walking one evening (was with my Dad and he always takes his binoculars) and we saw a 'fight' in a field. We immediately phoned the police (well we actually phoned my Mum who collected us in a car, before we phoned the police - just in case we were spotted.) It's truly horrific, and anyone involved - even as a spectator should be locked up!
this sort of thing along with badger baiting used to take place around Marsh Lane and Eckington areas. I once was shown a lakeland terrier who had had a recent bout with a badger, a real mess. The numpty who owned him had even stitched him up himself as he dare not take him to the vet for obvious reasons. Luckily the dog was recovering quite well, shame the badger had'nt mauled the owner as well.
I watched the same program & it made me feel sick!
the poor pup they'd used as a 'bait dog' as they called & the one that had cig burns all over it, god it was terrible!
But unless they catch them doing it nothing can be done its sick!

It's good to know that many people support the cause of trying to stop this horrific activity.
I was just wondering how many people would sign a petition to make tougher sentences and raise more awareness about the cause.
I've been in contact with a charity which helps with this and they are sending me some posters to put up.
I would be really great if others would help just to put some up in their area to raise awareness, and try to stop some of the ignorance.

If you do get any info on it shorty - email the links and info to us - and we can put it on our site - then you can promote back to that.
The people who do this sort of stuff are sick in the head - and I hope when they come back on this earth - they too are abused by people as sick as they are. I just pray the dogs don't suffer to long at the hands of these sickos.
