Is there anyone in Sheffield who plays 9-ball upto a profesional standard??? Everytime i go up to rileys all i see is people just banging the ball about not knowing what there doing, is there any decent players out there who fancy a game??????
At this point in time my only option is to travel to Leeds or Doncaster to get a game.

i think its more like there are not many people playing it because its harder than standard pool...and not as much fun in my opinion.

Personally I don't believe it's harder than standard 8 ball. They are separate games which there are valid points for both been more easier than the other.

Two years ago I was a decent standard whe playing three to four nights a week including APA League matches in Connecticut. My standard has dropped sice then due to lack of play but can quickly return with practice.

Do you play at the Rileys near the Lescar Pub?

try having a look in at Trickshots at Hillsborough. There were a few really good players the last time i was down there.

uragooner, let me know when you've got some free time in August and we'll definatly get together for a game. I usually play in the Rileys on Mansfield Rd but dont have a problem getting to the one near the Lascar.

I'll definatly get round to checking out Trickshots, might go down tomorrow afternoon.

does any1 know where they have them american tables coz would like to have a game, played usa pool in lucky star in blackpool but not 9 ball, its great better than english pool to me, was on sky last week theres lots of tiapie and chinese players, that trickshotts , is it near wilkos, i went it said american pool and they dont have them now!

The Rileys on Mansfield Rd has free 9-ball on wednesday night from 7. After watching the people play in there last night i would just like to point out one little thing, the 1 ball goes on the foot spot, not the 9 ball!

mansfield road is just past the manor then you go past a fire station and the rileys is up on the left hand side as you start to go up a hill.

crap directions but better than nowt :)

You might want to check this (http://www.easypooltutor.com/article100.html) out then. On Sky they always rack with the 1 on the foot spot.
Even when your playing U.S 8-ball the front ball of the triangle goes on the spot,not the 8.

oh right ive always done it with 9 on spot thats all

can any1 tell me how many tables there are and is there tournaments to join, hoping to get up soon on mannsfield road, is there any more clubs in sheffield with american tables? cheers
