We have adopted a pair of british shorthaired cats, just over 4 weeks ago. One has settled in nicely and is quite adorable. The other only ventures out from his hiding place under an armchair to feed, and is very timid. In an attempt to get him out today, he ended up in the garden under a bush and is not looking likely to come out. He has no experience of roads or traffic, and quite frankly if he does come back in we're at a loss how to deal with him. Any suggestions or advice welcome.

aww i had this problem with my cats protection cat she hid in my sons bedroom for 2 weeks and is still very timid i bought a feliway diffuser and i do believe they work they make the home more neutral smell wise altho i had the same prob she got outside just after 2 weeks because my other 2 go out she saw the chance to get out and stayed out 2 days and 2 nites she didnt go far but she is very independent and it was only hunger that got her back in she is still always the last in but is a lot more settled now altho still very timid and everythings on her terms i don't think your cat will wander far as the lady said who i adopted nala off they dont know anywhere else and am sure hunger will get the better of your cat xxx
