We have made massive progress with our dog aggressive dog over the last few months. He is off lead in training class. On group training walks he is off lead and plays with other dogs (wearing a muzzle just in case). He has learnt some doggy manners and will leave a dog if it growls/snaps at him to go away and likes to get other dogs to play chase, he does lots of doggy bows which is great to see! He likes bigger dogs like Labradors/ GS/ ridgebacks and generally leaves the smaller dogs to it as he's not keen on them (maybe faster movements?). Most dogs he just completely ignores.

Now the group walks are going great but he can still be too alert when we are out on our own and meet just one dog (he is on lead) so this is the next area I want to work on.

I do not have any friends that have dogs so I am looking for some dog owners that would not mind me walking next to them with medium/ large well behaved dogs on lead (mine will wear a muzzle too), and the more dogs/ people the better :) I've been high jacking other dog owners in the park but because of his muzzle they think I'm some kind of mad person  or they have their dogs off lead so I can't approach as he is not too good if he is on lead and a dog runs at him. It only has to be for 10 minutes at the end of your walk and I would be extremely grateful! I'm quite happy to travel so Eccy woods/ Graves Park / Meersbrook Park / Millhouses Park/ are all places we go to. And can travel further on Sundays.

If you think you can help please get in touch.

Hi Eve, I'll willingly bring Lennox our dogue de Bordeaux to walk with Damon. He's huge but as soft as a brush.the only concern is do you think it will confuse Damon that I'm walking another dog and not him? If so Rachel could walk Lennox and I could either walk D or walk alongside you and D.Let me know what you think :)

That sounds great Helen. I would not have thought about that. If Rachel does not mind it may be a good idea just to start off with as I know how much he  you.

He seems happy enough when we are stroking other dogs on the group walks and when he is on the group walks he seems to attach himself to someone when the path is narrow and just walks to heel with them, everyone mucks in looking after the dogs :) So I don't think it will be a problem but I agree it's best to be on the cautious side

That's great. I'll give you a ring tomorrow and we'll sort something out for sometime in the week.

I've got a collie cross who is quite elderly. She's not fantastic with other dogs and will snap at them if they approach. If they ignore her and stay away she ignores them.

I'd be happy to come to Graves Park at the weekend to walk with you if you think Sadie would be suitable for the task.

Send a pm if you'd like to meet up and I'll give you my phone number.

We would be happy, i keep volunteering us lol but so far no-one has managed to come and see us. Albert is a lurcher X and very gentle on lead. I don't drive though but you would be welcome to come over here and have a walk with us.
