Hi
Does anyone know anything about Baxi solo boilers? My pilot light is refusing to stay lit. I have tried to press the reset button behind the boiler which used to work, but now the button feels like it is stuck in.
I don't want to call someone out and get stung with a £50 call out fee if it's just something simple.
Thanks.
We just had the same problem, not with a baxi tho. It turned out to be the thermocoupler. As soon as we mentioned the problem to anyone that knew anything about them, they said it was that.
Can't tell you about the cost though because we had it done through a policy on our bank account. Once they got hold of the part it didn't seem to take too long to fit it.

It's a thermocouple, you can go to wickes or arnold laver diy and buy a new one for around £5 and fit it yourself, usually..
Athough if there is another fault or something blocked, you would be better off having a Corgi registered plumber to come and give it a quick check over.
After all you don't want a gas leek or carbon monoxide poisoning do you.

Don't forget that it is a good idea to get your gas boilers checked/serviced once a year or so.
Ask a Corgi man how much for a service and get him to change the thermocouple while he is at it!

Thanks for the replys guys. You are right about safety. Much more important than money. Am going to get in touch with a corgi registered person so if anyone can recommend someone in S10 please do.
Cheers.
