yes it was a good cricket arena, australia played there the old wooden pavillion was really quaint.i also played there in a norton and disrict representative game for juniors against the sheffield league, they had a very good player i think called tony more.ithink the football team should have moved to a new ground and left it to cricket.

I was at the last match ever played there. I was quite young, nine or ten. My recollection is of a very big, but odd shaped ground, with long grass where the football pitch was so the ball didn't run very well.

It is a shame that such a lovely cricket ground was turned over to a lower league football team:hihi:

I too was lucky enough to watch cricket at bramall lane for the last few years yorkshire played there, it was a unique place to watch cricket, with the screeching of arnold lavers sawmill in the background and the razor sharpness of the wit of the crowd, I have so many happy memories ,watching yorkshire defeat the australian tourists by an innings in 68, boycott scoring many centuries, happy days.

Are there any cricketers out there that fancy a game of friendly cricket for Chatsworth today (Sunday 31st of May 2009) at Chatsworth (40 overs match - start at 2:00). I only have 8 players and need 3 more.???
