People like that get my blood boiling, but it's no use trying to reason with these idiots, I bet they wouldn't find it funny if the boot was on the other foot!!.

Real scum. If caught they should be treated as if they'd slashed the neck of a person. 10 years at least.

There are some sick sad people around. I cannot understand the mentality of anyone who gains pleasure from inflicting cruelty on animals like this.

Why would anybody want to do something like that ? I find it quite disturbing when i read stories like this.

Maybe if we catch the person or persons that did this we should slash there necks and see how they like it.

The only logical reasoning why anyone would want to do such a thing is that they must have been born minus one brain.

Let me guess Mr Officer, this was a 'dispicable act and.., oh look, is that car parked on double yellow lines? Excuse me one minute'.

Pah.

Is this the one that happened the other day? I heard about it on another forum. I hope it's not another.

Here is a "Guardian" article about a spate of slashings in the Hope Valley in 2003:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,986825,00.html

I have also heard or read that horse slashings have occurred at least as far back as Victorian times and occur around the world. Not many reports of "cow slashings", however.

In addition to there being some sick and evil folk around, it would seem that there is some psychological (or sexual?) disorder that pushes people to this mutilation.

if its the stables at the old beagle kennels, i was only there on wednesday, saw quite a few blokes there, shoe'ing the horses ect,
im a regular up there (puttin the flags up) so always keep my eyes open when ever i pass through,

theres no reason for anyone to do this to horses

Complete arseholes blowing up innocent citizens in London.............Complete arseholes slashing defenseless animals in Sheffield.

Different levels of disgust, but a fine line between the two mentalities.

What wouldn't I give to watch both parties burned alive very slowly.

Can't believe this is happening again - there were quite a few attacks a couple of years ago - I've never heard of it linked to a cult but it sounds about right doesn't it, a normal person surely couldn't do this.

The reason is.... a psychopathic personality! One in every hundred of the population! The answer is.... an end to this illogical liberal system that is afraid to in-prison the anti-social. The System will have a file on this individual somewhere; since he will have, almost certainly, offended before! Kevin.

Email received from South Yorkshire Police.

"On 21.06.2005 a bay mare was attacked whilst in a field with a grey mare in a field at Ecclesfield, Sheffield – cut around her neck, she survived.
Overnight 02/03.07.2005 at Grenoside, Sheffield, a bay mare was cut across her chest whilst in a field with a grey mare.
On 08.07.05 at Catcliffe, Rotherham a chestnut mare with yearling at foot was deeply cut whilst in a field with 20 other horses.

There has also been a report of a donkey being cut around its’ neck in Worksop, Nottinghamshire on 02.07.05

Over the 3rd, 4th and 17th June there have been incidents of youths throwing stones etc at horses at Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheffield."

This is absolutely sickening and whilst I realise this isn't a dedicated horse site, I'd just like to ask everyone to be extra vigilant of people hanging around horses' fields please. Personally, I'd string the b's up but that would just be too good for them!
