The Manor Lodge was built in the early 1500's, Queens tower was built in the early to mid 1800,s.
By the time Queens Tower was being built Manor Lodge had been derelict for about 100 years.
It is said that some of the stonework and windows in Queens Tower were "borrowed from the ruins of Manor Lodge.
Apart from that there would be no link between them

I used to work at a firm in Castle Green, just down from where the old Police statio used to be. In the cellars there was a bricked up arch about 20feet high.

According to the old blokes who showed it me it was originally a tunnel that linked premises on Castle green to the old Castle. They also said, and i cant really believe this, that there was a further tunnel from the Castle to the manor castle.

Mod: As pointed out in post 3, there is a long running thread all about the tunnels under the city: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=13360
