Does anyone remember the bus crash on East Bank Road in the early 70's? The bus came off the road at the bus stop near the Byard's Leap and slid down the bank and wedged under the verandah of the maisonettes at the side of the pub. At the time I heard there was a young boy waiting to get off who got hurt. The bus was one of the old type where you got on and off at the back.

Yes I remember the bus crash on East Bank Road, I had an aunt and uncle who live in the prefabs just above and I was visiting them and saw the bus down the banking and lodged into the maisonettes.
