View Full Version : Two rainbows in one shot fox20thc 18-05-2009, 19:39 http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g254/fox20thc/rubbish015.jpg hows that for unusual! Dhimmi 18-05-2009, 19:46 Looks normal to me! I've seen three against a dark sky before now. A third one is likely there, but too faint to see on your photo. Have you noticed how the outer one has colours in inverse order to the inner one? Nice that. Phanerothyme 18-05-2009, 20:27 you've got five rainbows there at least! three inside and one outside. Notice how the sky is darker between the main and outer bow too! Nice shot! Grissom 18-05-2009, 21:44 Looks like you got a supernumerary rainbow as described here http://www.jal.cc.il.us/~mikolajsawicki/ex_optics.html Nice :) ImpInaBox 19-05-2009, 15:11 Hmm - nasty bit of chromatic abberation there, Fox. I should get that lens calibrated! :hihi: bebopaloola 21-05-2009, 20:56 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3586/3518497464_065e0c0fc9_m.jpg heres another!!!! taken on my mobile! jezzyjj 12-06-2009, 01:19 Looks like you got a supernumerary rainbow as described here http://www.jal.cc.il.us/~mikolajsawicki/ex_optics.html Nice :) Funny how it describes triple rainbows as impossible as I've seen them on several occasions. Probably have photos somewhere. |
