Hi all,

I am a complete gardening novice.

I have just moved into a flat with a balcony and want to try growing some things.

I have got a small growbag plastic greenhouse which I am going to grow 3 tomato plants, I also have another tomato plant whichI will grow in a pot I think.

I have had loads fo advice from my mum who knows all about toms.

With the tom plants I also got 3 sweet pepper plants, they are labelled as 1 sweet pepper, 1 sweet banana pepper and one golden something pepper?

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to what to do with them now!

They are currently a few inches tall and the chap I got the from said they needed to be repotted about now.

I understand they will need to be in a greenhouse, which is fine, I was going to get another tierd one in the next few days.

Will they be better in a grow bag, or pots? and if pots, what sort of size?

Also will they be alright with tomato food or should I feed them soemthing different?

Wuill they need tying to sticks like my tomatoes? or are they bushy plans that will support themselves?

finally how big shoudl I expect them to get (so I know how much space I need for them in a green house)

many thanks! I am hoping that I can get some small successes with these, my toms and some herbs to spur me on tyo some other things next year!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

They will do much better in a growbag, My pepper plants have previously been a let down and I think it's because I have never put them in big enough pots. I intend to stick some in a growbag instead this year, so far none of my seeds have germinated tho so perhaps you don't want to be listening to me!

I decided that the whole seeds thing is a bit too much work, and adds extra layers of things that can go wrong! given I got all my 6 plants for £2 I'm hoping that the hard bit has been done and they will be harder to kill than seedings!

Do you know how big they will get? I don't know whether to just get another growbag type greenhouse, or one with shelves and put them on the bottom.

If you have the floor space I would get another grow bag. In pots mine only used to get 1.5feet but the chilli plant I put in a growbag got 3 times the size of the ones in pots!

I have the space for another growbag one, as long as I can get my herbs around it.

So they will get tall and will need supports then? like the tomatoes? this is all very exciting (and in honesty, growbags are prob cheaper than pots and compost!!)

They will need supporting but that's about it. Toms are a pain in the arse as you have to keep on top of them else you end up with a bloody jungle!

excellent! I feel like I half know what I'm doing, which is more than before at least!
