hi there!... does anyon know how - or even if it is possible - to download a recording i made of myself on minidisk onto my computer? :suspect:
would really appreciate any help as have been struggling with this one for years. you are my last hope!!xxx
if your sound card has optical in/out then you could do it via that. or... i used to use: a Xitel MDPIO (http://www.xitel.com/product_mdpio.htm)
If it's a bog standard MD recorder then take a lead from the line out/headphone out of it to the line in on your soundcard. Adjust the audio recording properties on the soundcard to Line in, record and play.
Your MD will more than likely have an optical out too, but you'll need optical in on your soundcard.

I have a sony Network Diskman, which can connect to a PC via a USB lead. And I thought, great I can transfer band rehersal recordings to CD in double quick time, but NO!!!
It only downloads not uploads.. So I can copy my cd's to minidisk quickly via USB lead, but I have to record from the earphone socket into my computer in real time if I want to transfer from Minidisk to Computer to CD...
:loopy:
Although I suspect the problem is you have to use the Sony Jukebox software which insists on checking in and out tracks so you can't make lots of pirate MDs. AS IF!!

:help:
hi there
since my last posting - i conected my minidisk player to my laptop using a normal cable from the headphone socket on minisidkplayer and into the microphone socket on the laptop.
i then downloaded my home made recording into the computer using audacity.
I then exported this as an mp3 file.
i then added this to my windows media player library, and have now burned the the track onto cd a couple of times.
BUT the for some weird reason there are noises on the cd recording which do not exist on the original. weird sounds that are seemingly randomly distorting the music from time to time (too frequently)
its really weird - sounds like a little gremlin in there messing around!
can anyon ehelp?????????? really really need to try to get this sorted as its become seriously urgent....

please please someone help me!!!!! any ideas?... anyone???:(
More than likely the poor audio quality on the mic input and losses on the cheapo cable and connectors.
What other connectors does the MD player have, and have you got a desktop PC that could be used instead as this may have a better soundcard? You could always upgrade the soundcard if it is that, and\or try using a better cable if the one you have is one of those flimsy really thin ones that you get free with things.
