The 3-7 seven days (which, I have to say, is a little 'quick' - most of the seeds I've plant suggest 7 to 14 days for seedlings to emerge) - is just a guideline and does depend on a number of conditions; enough water, warmth, nutrients and so on. Some even rely on the way the seed is planted.
Then again, not every seed sown will germinate. You might even have a totally duff batch (I've had some myself - you look, day after day for some kind of green shoot, and nothing; after 4 weeks, you give up and try again!!!).
Persoanlly, I would always give it at least 10 days for any seed to germinate before getting anxious about your 'little babies'.

Thanks - thought it might've been - fingers crossed no duff batch and just impatience at work :)
First go at developing green fingers :)

No problem.
It's a waiting game, but when you see the first signs of green shoots poking through you get all maternal and mushy. (ahhh!).
I'd put money on the pumpkins coming up 1st - my sunflowers took a couple of weeks. If your pumpkins fail to come up I have some plants for free if you can collect from S6.

In my limited experience (grown both, once!) when they do come up there'll be no stopping them!!!! :D
