if you don't like people blowing whistles or students dressed as asparagus, drawers, palm trees, lamps etc then don't go to the same bars as The Chief or ohmyword :hihi:

If you do then I would say walkabout, varsity and if your a student cavendish

My advice is stay off West St.

Devonshire Green is much better where you have Vodka Rev, Bar 23, 360 Bar, Green Room, Forum, Old House, Common Room etc... All slightly more expensive than on West St but without any of the chav's.

im my opinion the best or at least the ones ive had good nights in are vodka revolution (hmm pear drops vodka :love:), varsity, bar hoi, the bedroom (yummy cocktails :love:).

Bar 360 of course! Friendly staff, great drink offers and wonderful music - don't miss out! x

Also there's the Red Deer just off West Street - behind the Cavendish. It's a bit more of a pub than a bar but a lot nicer for it.

Avoid Westways though !!

What an insult to people that come on West Street. So everyone is a chav? How do you define a chav? Is that someone who is not very intelligent and wears Burberry?
As for the advice to stay off West Street, is it because it is a bit cheaper than the Dev quarter?

Final insult is not taking the customers seriously and treating them as unsuspecting about their knowledge about what they drink.
There are lot of supercilious offers presented as good value for money. Fact is lots of bars are offering cheap brands and the poor customer is ostensibly none the wiser or indifferent. Furthermore, it's a fact that they don't use the top brand spirits in their cocktails either. Maybe it's about time they did?

The market is so wild that the customer will never know what the true "fair" prices should be. And that's if you have a finite definition of "fair". There is no true definitive fair price for any given drink in Sheffield or the UK wide.

On a slight tangent, my main pet hate is the two tier price system on mid week and weekends. Even Wetherspoons is guilty of it and they claim they're the cheapest in the land. What does everyone else think about this? Why should someone out on a Friday or Saturday pay more for their drink than those that go out mid week? I know I'd prefer to give my custom to a bar that keeps the same prices 7 days a week. Do the Devonshire Quarter bars have the same prices 7 days a week? If not then they're not treating their customers fairly and with due care and respect either.

The basement ,bedroom ,players bar these places to avoid as theyre awful....Id agree with the dev green area as theres also the washington and dev cat pubs.

If U Want Cheap Cocktails, Friendly Staff, Good Music & Dancing Then West Street & Particularly The Bedroom are spot on. If U want a quiet night, chatting over a pint then Devonshire Quarter Would be Fine.

Virtually all bars on West Street fall into the scum/student category. S1, Varsity, Cavendish, Players, Westways, Reflex and Static are the most rotten student/scum infested bars on Earth. Stay well clear at ALL costs.
