There is quite a lot on Picture Sheffield - are they not quite what you want? Any particular streets?

See if you can contact Fred Pass through Radio Sheffield. His book where's me dad was based there.

I must admit I was born just off Addy Street two roads over and find it difficult to remember. I do remember that a kid by the name of Clayton was playing around when the flats were being built had an accident and was off school some time cos it badly damaged his face.

Ther's a great picture of Brightmore St (where Iwas born), Ive got a print, think it cost around £13.99.

See earlier thread about Sarah St and Taylor Sq, raised by 'redlionblade' - coincidence or what?

Methinks this isn't a coincidence as a little bird tells me it could just be the same poster under a different name.

Spooks!

(Ssshhhh - Rockyblade - formerly known as Redlionblade - was and is, my elder brother! He explained why he changed his name but I'd fallen asleep before he'd finished.)

I was born in Portland Street. I may have a photo in the archives. I will have a look.

I was born in St.Phillips Road in '53 and then moved to Addy Street around 1962

There are one or two pics to be found on Pictures Sheffield ( I found the corner shop I was born in) but you have to use every possible search keyword you can think of.

As you said I have only managed to find a couple of Addy Street

I will ask my old dad if he has any pics, but back in those days you did'nt take pics of the area - they tended to be of holidays and special occasions.

Plenty of memories though

Guess What here we go again
I was born in Cross Addy street moved to Guildford Rise Norfolk Park in 1967 and got married in 72 and moved to Swallownest

Havn't been down latley but I was at Daniel Hill Chippie about 2/3 years ago (when it was a chippie not a chinese). They had a sign up adfertising an exhibition at Upperthgorpe Library. Spoke to the lady behind the counter who said that they were holding an exhibition in the library of photo's memorabilia prior to the demolision od the area. They had a few pictures of the area before but most were of the houses being pulled down. She also said that the post office also had some on display.
