With Parkin (easily 17 stone), Mellor (a good 14 1/2 stone), Porter (a big lad) - they were carrying some weight between em.

I'd have that Parkin at the Lane though, cracking Championship player, i'm hoping we're looking for a higher calibre of player in the summer though :)

are you kidding me- parkin is an absolute lump of a forward who tried to bully his way past defenders with his size- the man has no first touch and no skill at all- the sheffield united of old would have signed him- not now.

Bullys prosper in the Championship, don't get me wrong he'll never make the PL but he's perfect for the Championship, look at Neil Shipperley, he was a bit lad (though he did have a much better touch than Parkin).

Parkin is probably the strongest forward in this division, but has a touch like a baby elephant. A team playing direct football in this league probably couldn't do better than sign him.

Don't know about his weight, but Jon Macken of Barnsley certainly has the biggest arse to body ratio in the division.

I know i had right chuckle as the players were coming out last night, Parkin really did look a giant at the side of Alan Wiley, i would have said he would have been 16 stones plus but apparenly not.

This years Sky Sports football yearbook says that Parkin weighs 13st 7lb but that was before the season started.I reckon he's been living on Deepdales deep filled steak pies since the start of the season.My missis was saying he's got to be the fattest player to play at the Lane since Billy Foulke.

I'm 14 stone, and about, what? the best part of a foot shorter than him? And he's much bigger than me, so there's no way on god's green earth, he's only 13-8 (I'd accept 18-3, perhaps, as nearer the mark! :hihi: :hihi:)
