Platillos in Leopold Square was good when we went recently and the other plave they own the Wig & Pen on Campo lane was good too. Went a while ago to Piccolinos in the Peace Gardens which was a smart venue with good food.

yep, we've come up with most of those too! its for a 'work birthday meal' - cmapo lane is very good spot as we're already there, however i think they may find us a little rowdy. BB's is the usual we go to, isn't platillos just tapas? Piccolinos = is that really expensive?

Well it's not city centre but Damhouse is very nice, it's near the Childrens Hospital on Mushroom Lane - 2 course £15 or 3 for £20

Not strictly city centre but the Milestone in Shalesmooe is excellent - genuine fine dining and not too expensive
