First time poster and somebody who has never openly criticised a restaurant before. But after last night i feel i've got to share my dining experience with you. Myself and 4 friends had dinner at the Noodleinn and London road and wait for it............................out of 4 main meals we found 6 long black hairs (3 in one dish!!) and what appeared to be a bit of damp squashed toilet paperrolled up between some chicken and carrot!!!!!!!!!

The waitressess didn't seem interested but we did manage to get some new dishes (hair free).

Not a nice experience........oh and did you know that Tea is free to Chinese customers but the rest of us have to pay 2 quid!! (my mate spent 7 years in Hong Kong and has a decent grasp of Cantonese).

Whoa that sounds a bit dodgy... get yourself to Tokyou, as far as the bill said the green tea was free.

I've been eating there every week for the last 2/3 years and never had a problem. Obviously, I'm not saying that your experience was fabricated, more that it's not a shared one.

I eat out quite a lot and Noodle Inn is by a long way, the busiest place I know. It's packed even at mid-week lunchtimes. If everyone had hair in their food, I doubt this would be the case. Maybe the chef was having a bad hair day.

Tea is £1 per person. I agree, it shouldn't be free to Chinese customers and not English, however, that's a management decision. We've always got on with the staff in there, who have all been really friendly and are great with young kids too.

I've no doubt that the manager is a nice fellow. Paying part-time waiting staff less than 5 quid an hour whilst driving a Porche 911 is ok by me.

But thats another argument altogether.

Treating fellow Chinese differently to us Laowai is nothing knew and i've come to expect that but the restaurant wont be getting my business agin in the future. I'm now thinking of opening a Fish & Chip shop in Guangdong where of course my fellow Englishmen/women will get there scraps for free!

Why does it matter what the manager pays his staff? No one is making them work there! it seems like you had a bad opinion of this place before you went in.

not my favourite restaurant but still very nice. Try harmony cafe just of west street, similar food and that place is packed everyday and there is good reason for that.

People are entitled to use whatever criteria they like when deciding who to give their money to.

I'd agree about Harmony Cafe, tho I've only been there once, and it was excellent

Noodle Inn has gone down hill. It used to be great but recently I have found the food and service very poor. The rude attitude toward us 'long noses' is no fun and I never agreed with the free tea for chinese customers policy. What really annoyed me at my last visit was that we ordered bbq ribs with our starter and were brought honey or mustard ones, some that we didnt like anyway. We were 100% sure that we had asked right in the first place and the waitress read our order back before taking it to the kitchen. When we refused the wrong starter she went to the kitchen, then came back with them and insisted they were what we ordered. She did this twice and then she was rude throughout service after we got our proper order. I got the feeling this mistake was going to cause her some trouble, and even had we not been right I was annoyed that it was a case of 'you will get what you are given' rather than the customer is always right.

Hui Wei is my new favourite chinese. And I am gutted about Noodle Inn. It has been a regular of mine for years
