i have got a tattoo studio & pagan store we have been thinking about turning the waiting room into an internet cafe.

do you think it is a good idea , you would use this kind of service

I wouldn't because I live in Darnall and have my own PC with broadband access. Have you looked at the other places in Darnall offering Internet access to see how busy they are. e.g Library, Job shop (near your shop) and the couple of places on Staniforth road. That ought to give you a guide to how busy they are and hence the demand. You could also pretend to be a customer and enquire about how much they charge.

I think it's a great idea, but I'm not sure how many customers you would get in Darnal, it will cost you a lot to set-up and you need to make sure you have enough passing trade to make it pay.

It's better suited to somewhere you get repeat custom.

Someone coming for a tatoo is unlikely to have brought there laptop with them, and having found out about the internet access they're not likely to become a daily customer just so that they can do a bit of browsing.

I haven't voted becuase although I think it's a good idea, it's not a service I would use because I have my own PC and don't like tatoos.

But like I said - it could work. People could also use it for things like searching for tatoo designs/inspiration on the net.

Err, i think people are missing the point of the thread. The idea is that Litha has her own set of computers, and people who come in for tattoos can sit down and go on the net for a bit while they wait for their slot.

in which case is actually likely to do anything to either attract new customers or keep existing ones.
Personally I doubt it, so it's just an uneccessary expense that detracts from the core of the business.

Just keep a regular stock of magazines in.

People have a choice of tattoo parlour in sheffield.

I know this one is clean and looking damn good and anything else that can attract customers into choosing this shop would surely be a good thing.

the idea is.. some people dont have internet access and with so many things been www. this and www that nowadays there is things that people want to have a look at but without the expense of buying a pc and also for people who are waiting for a tattoo or waiting for a friend to have one.
i already have internet access in the shop ( broadband) and the chance of a few good priced pc's ( with a fella that will sort em for me)
and at the end of the day if it doesnt work then the kids know what they are gettin for christmas :thumbsup:

I'd be concerned that nowardays a lot of people seem to have internet access at home, college, school, work etc.

Not sure how big the need is.

If you do it, be sure the security of the shop is OK, Don't want people breaking in for the hardware :mad:
