I have a son that is fast growing out of his pram. I am a walker and would like to take him out on longer walks. I was thinking of getting a baby carry unit but there is so much to choose from and they are so expensive. Can anyone recommend a particular carry unit. I am looking at MacPac, BushBaby and Decathlon. Has anyone had experience of these. Can anyone recommend any other brands.:)

After trying quite a few out, we bought the one that was originally recommended by friends - Vaude Jolly Comfort IV. Can't fault it at all. Everything from comfort, back support, adjustability and storage space is excellent.

It depends how far you will be walking. If, like us, you go on weekend walks through the woods or up on the moors for a few hours, with a rest at the pub on the way round, it's ideal. Making sure I don't knacker my back was a top priority for me. Most of the weight sits on your hips, with the other 20% on your shoulders, so it's very comfortable (and George is as happy as Larry in it!).

They're not cheap though (about £130), but you get what you pay for.
