I am in a situation at the moment where I feel like I dont know whether Im coming or going.

We have to sell our house which we only moved into last year, simply cos I cannot work at the moment due to anxiety and panic attacks. Some people would say "pull yourself together" and get a job but its not as simple as that. I have already lost 2 jobs due to this annoying chuffin thing and there seems no point at the moment to get another job in case it happens again and again. I really want to work, Im not one of those who is simply lazy and wants to live off benefits Im really not:(

We have to sell because we cannot afford to live here any longer, we would rather move out and be happy to have each other rather than be skint all the time and miserable. The only thing is we might have to move in with my boyfriend's parents for the time being until we find a council property (boyfriend been on list since 1986). We will find one I know but its the waiting and not having our own place to come back to. His parents are lovely and really understanding people but nobody wants to rely on other people all the time if you know what I mean.

Come on Sheffield Folks please, please cheer me up, send me some jokes, anything to lighten my mood.

Cheers peeps!

Oh sweetie! Sending big hugs your way. You should get a council property really quickly with the length of time on the list. You'll be sorted out in no time, I'm sure.

The panic attacks and anxiety point towards there being the odd bit of fluff buried in your mind that could do with dealing with. Give Sheffield Mind a ring on (0114) 258 4489. Wonderful charity that can help people with a bit of head trouble, free and in confidence. And if you move towards a cure you might be able to work again, and keep that nice house.

Best of luck. Shouldn't take too much effort on your part before you're able to take a much more active part in the world. 'twill be an interesting journey, too...

I like the jokes some of you have posted and pm'd to me. I think moving in with the in-laws will be ok, it wont be ideal but at least we wont be paying a huge mortgage and will have some money behind us for once. Thanks all for replying so far, I needed some kind words.

Cheers peeps! good new and bad news... the bad new is you will probably never get back on the propety ladder prices being what they are.... the good news is.... there are some council estates where you won't get killed ... statistically - for about a year or so.... every cloud!!;)

My favourite joke:

Two oranges walk into a bar, one says to the other "your round" :hihi:

If that didn't make you laugh, this will

Jillybabes, sorry to read about your dilema, i don't have a joke for you but a couple of idea's. If you have a spare room or two, have you thought about letting them out, depending on where you are you could raise a decent amount of rent which you could put towards your mortgage. It could be as long or short a term as your wish to let you recover enough to enable you to return back to work. You could let to a professional or if you can wait a while, now is the perfect time to advertise for a student lodger, ready for the new academic year.
Have you thought about re mortgaging (if it's an option) to spread your payments over a longer term, maybe that way you could manage the payments.
We have our mortgage with the Halifax and they have allowed us to take a mortgage break. I don't know if all companies have this option but it's a thought. The 'missed' payments are added onto our debt though which could make the matter worse if you take this option and then are still not able to work.
Just a thought. Good Luck

why as a cow got a long face.

well it get its tits pulled everyday and only gets f**ked once a year.

as for the housing problem me and my girlfriend was there 6 years ago I was kicked out of my mums and my girlfriend had just split up from he ex hubby so we went to see the council and was told we would have to wait for 10 years before we got a house from them so we had know where to go and so we went on the road and slept out for 4 months and this was in the winter and one of the nights was the coldest it had been minus 18 but we got throught it. we slept in churchyards, shop doorways, down on the canal, all for 4 months and my girlfriend had lost our baby along the way she had a miscarridge but our story had a happy ending we got a house through being homeless and our landlady was really brilliant she did everything for us we have decided to rent private as wait for the council we could be on there for ever. if you need help then try robond in rotherham they helped us find our house we have been with them for 6 years and they are the greatest.

jillybabes, sorry to hear of your troubles - do seek all the medical help you can. with regards your financial problems, have you thought about reverting to an interest only mortgage so that you can continue to live in your house during this, hopefully "temporary" illness?
hope everything turns out well for you - good luck!
