If it is only a few ponds you need to lose - it will be more difficult than if you had lots to lose. Maybe a bit more exercise is all that is needed, or just replace certain foods with lower fat versions. The trick is not to deny yourself anything - or you will find you want it all the more!

Good luck.

Just don't buy any treats and eat "good stuff". It's the only way. Walk a bit more etc.

I don't listen to anything about all these new diets.

Ignore these fad diets - they are very unhealthy as often you lose weight but then put it back on straight away. The trick is to eat little and often. Eat 6-8 meals a day rather than the standard 3 - not always too convinient but it really is the best way. PM me for more info and food ideas.

Eat when your hungry and stop eating once you feel full, don't think you have to eat everything on your plate, and get some exercise.

The Cereal diet worked for me several years ago. eat nothing but cereal and you can have plenty of it.

The best diet though is a BALANCED diet with exercise. A bit of everything is what our bodies need. Unfortunately i cant master it yet!! :D

Change your standard bread for pittas (sounds strange but it worked for me) and try to avoid processed sugars and carbs - they will just make you hungrier rather than fill you up!

Pumpkin seeds! Having a few pumpkin seeds every now and then really stops me getting hungry and means then when i do eat im not desperately starving so I can eat things that take longer to prepare and aren't just stodge.

I do like stodge.

Here's an old diet trick...

Everytime you want something sweet, brush your teeth. Apparently the mint taste fools your tongue into thinking it's tasting sweet things.

If it doesn't work for your diet, at least you'll have pearly whites :)

I pay to go on a site called weightlossresources.co.uk it is just a massive database of food and you have a food diary that you enter you food for the day, it works out how many calories to eat per day and what % fat, protein ect.

Any excerise can be swapped for extra calories. I've lost over a stone in 2 months and I'm now less than a stone to target. It has a free 3 day trial period so you can see if you like it. I like it cos I can eat what I want within reason, it also makes you think about what foods are better for you and promotes excerise as more = more food. It's more a lifestyle change than a 'diet'

Hope this helps!

I Tend To Just Have One Big Meal A Day (Round About 6 O'Clock). It Fills You Up,So You're Not Snacking Before You Go To Bed (Apparently The Worse Time To Eat).
If I Feel Hungry During The Day,I Might Have A Few Cream Crackers Of Something Like That,But Not Too Much As You Don't Want To Spoil Your Appetite For Your "Big Tea".

eat faitrly healthily.

cut out snacks.

eat lots of fruit/veg.

exercise daily. Doesn't have to be a 2 hr gym session but 30 minutes walking.

cut out booze (or limit it)

eat your evening meals as early as possible.

Old wives trick
Eat what you like but make yourself sick after it. If this works go and see a doctor imediately as you are probably mad.:gag:

Cut your food portions in half and exercise. If you still feel hungry at meal time, eat more green veggies.

Eat less. Especially less bread.
Excercise more.
Have a cup of tea to ward off hunger pangs.

A free alternative is www.calorie-count.com, but it doesn't have any means of storage for exercise information or setting goals.

Never mind one big meal a day, get a paper round done then you burn of calories and you can eat as much as you like then.
Having said that this dosent work for everybody , does it !:suspect:

If you have a drink of water when you feel an initial hunger pang it really helps dull the urge to eat. After that it's just will power and increasing exercise levels to expend more calories than you are taking in. I went to weight watchers 25 years ago - guess what - still fighting the flab!

you should only eat when your are hungry as Nick2 says. we have been conditioned into eating at certain times and we get used to that. i realise this is due to working hours and having breaks for meals but really just eat sensibly and when you are hungry.

i tend to eat little bits of things but often rather than big meals -i'm not dieting but i just feel more energetic and never really truly hungry. i eat sensible things too like lots fruit salad so its a variety of really good tastes and i satisfy my sweet cravings. i just feel generally better for it.

one good tip - when you feel hungry, drink water first. if you still feel hungry after then eat. a high percentage of people mistake hunger for thirst.

i used to joke with my friend - remember its just food, its not love.

i went to weightwatchers and did really well, have stopped now but go to tesco every monday night to get weighed and also am still following the diet that weightwatchers give me and I have gone from 14.9 to 12.10 so am chuffed with that, I still go out and have a few bevvies and treat myself to choc but I go to the gym three t ish times a week , and/or do badminton on a sunday and spinning class on a friday night. Joining the gym is one of the4 best things ive ever done, means I can go whenever as Ive paid for the year and its loadsa fun, great to go before work in the morning , really wakes you up. Good luck though, if you want to meet up and go jogging anyone/swimming then pm me! would be nice to do more exercise with other people.
