Well, it was an interesting day's play. England having the morning session, then a few quick wickets (notice the IPL players drop quickly!) handed the intiative back to the Windies.

I'm glad the Windies didn't have their catching hands, as there were a few dollies which went down, but a couple of late wickets left it all quite nicely balanced.

I thought Fidel Edwards was very unlucky with the fielding (especially as he has four), and the umpiring was pretty good. I can only think of two bad decisions. One not to give Broad(? - memory fails me) out LBW when it looked pretty plumb to me, and the other to even up was Bresnan's dismissal which hit above the knee roll, and I thought would easily go over the stumps.

Still, a nicely poised Test at 289-7.

There was another interesting moment as Broad could have been dismissed with a really 'bat-eared' umpire, as in the shot where he was nearly C&B, there were apparently two noises from the bat. One near the shoulder, and then on the follow-through off the toe end.

Quick question .... do you have to deliberately hit the ball twice in order to be out in this manner, or can the fielding side legitimately ask the umpire a question even if it's not deliberate? And if they ask, could it be said that it goes against "The spirit of the game"?
