you need confidence.. if you aint got it your going nowhere.

just look at fighters, you can win a fight before you even step in to the ring, if the other person see you being cocky and confident. this is now a fight and we need everything and everybody behind us now:thumbsup:

I wouldn;t say thats overconfidence- thats just being positive.

The players will have been down after sundays result and to hear that their chairman has that much faith in them will have done good for team morale.

My point was that when people go shooting their mouths off about how they're going to win this and that, and then they don't, they end up with egg all over their faces. Nothing wrong with saying you're confident of winning, but saying "we'll see you at Wembley and we're going to win it" is just setting himself up for a fall. Nobody likes boasters (not the biscuits, people who boast).

Agree it's not just a United thing, but I was definitely thinking of all the "we're going to stuff you", "we're going to get revenge for last time" sort of thing that came from a lot (not all) of blades on here before the recent derbies.
