I know urine is supposed to be a good compost activator but someone told me that it is only male urine that is any good .Does anyone know the answer.I am not peeing into a bucket behind the allotment shed if it doesn't work.

I often go in the compost bin at other peoples houses and they give me some strange looks, till I tell them it is an activator.

You could sell your own urine to some people and label it as activator I bet.

this does work a treat, it is not the male or female hormones it is just high in nitrogen I thought.

how often is it needed then? I wonder if this was needed in mine as I had hoped for some lovely compost yesterday, only to find out of all the work I done last 2 years, I have about half a bucketful :(
