I didn't quite which thread to put this, it could go on the 'Foodies' section or it could've gone on 'Ex Pats and History' but here goes. Does anyone know or remember a very large yellow apple. They were always yellow, no other markings, and perhaps as big, maybe bigger, than a large Bramley. I remember them as tasting quite bland, with a coarse textured flesh, but still a nice tasting apple. The last time I saw them for sale would be in the early 50's, in a market somewhere. Also does anyone remember an apple called a 'Catshead'? This one was always just green and the sourest piece of fruit you can imagine, good cooker though, and with not a lot of imagination, it was shaped a little like its namesake.
