There's some proper fruitcakes around... barts96 04-05-2009, 14:31 yes but there phone number is on ad to ring nikki-red 04-05-2009, 14:42 Ive been selling something, had 3 people ask me if its still available, Ive said yes and then never heard from them again! In the olden days... buying and selling privately was always done on the phone before there were computers. Puzzles me why people get paranoid about their phone numbers too. dccjb 04-05-2009, 17:18 I've given it up has a bad job advertising on here. I've given my address out lots of times for various stuff & no one turns up alicat_26 04-05-2009, 17:30 Ive been selling something, had 3 people ask me if its still available, Ive said yes and then never heard from them again! Whats that all about?!! ....that's happened to me too, it's annoying. I suppose they didn't want it that much after all. That's all I can think. Rich 04-05-2009, 17:54 yes but there phone number is on ad to ring Which given this forum's prominence on Sheffield related Google searches is a BIG mistake IMO. Only an idiot puts his phone number on a public web site. D2J 04-05-2009, 19:33 Only an idiot puts his phone number on a public web site. Whats your number again Rich? :hihi: deemee 04-05-2009, 19:51 Which given this forum's prominence on Sheffield related Google searches is a BIG mistake IMO. Only an idiot puts his phone number on a public web site. So if you advertise in a paper or shop window thats ok then ??? sorry but i am not with you about phone numbers on web sites. Please could you explain. barts96 05-05-2009, 18:54 even if you ring mobile you can see that it says MISSED CALL lol so then you can return call or even text???? deemee 05-05-2009, 22:45 And what about the ones who you leave a message or text for and take approx. 2-3 days to get back to you. WHY does it take them so long??? I would have thought if you were wanting to sell something you would get rid asap. I would have thought if you were wanting to sell something you would get rid asap. can't see any problem myself ! I placed a for sale advert on here for a cooker and was inundated with private messages for it, it was sold within the hour !! many thanks to Sheffield Forum Classifieds  tizhimi 06-05-2009, 18:29 pointless SF rant. People miss calls. People answer calls. End of topic. Rich 06-05-2009, 20:09 So if you advertise in a paper or shop window thats ok then ??? sorry but i am not with you about phone numbers on web sites. Please could you explain. I just don't think putting personal details such as your phone number on a public web site is a good idea from an on, and offline safety point of view. Barry Noid 06-05-2009, 21:06 I just don't think putting personal details such as your phone number on a public web site is a good idea from an on, and offline safety point of view. Is that coming from someone that has made a faux pas Rich ?? you seem to be really keen on not putting your phone number on a web site ?? Why would you put a phone number on here anyway ?? there is a private message function that allows you not to put up any personal details if you dont want anyone else to see ?? are you real ?? My spidey senses say that you are fishing for something.... PrincessKate 06-05-2009, 21:20 i get fed up with some, in all my adds if its collection i will State "collection from S26 area, J31 of M1" The amount of PMS i get asking where abouts am i! its so frustrating! its not as if S26 is a huge area either! then the ones that ask for a post code for a sat nav, and with been a new build i do tell them it goes to wrong place but i always get "no my sat nav will get me there" 5 or 10 mins after arranged time i am garunteed a phone call :D tizhimi 07-05-2009, 09:19 sat nav is amazing(!) I remember maps.
