Probably the Owls players in the illegal betting scandal in the 60s, for bringing the game into disrepute, and tarnishing football forever... :)

How could we sue Wendy? What would you pay us with...

...although when it rained again you could let us in the deep end for free!

I havent got an answer but i bet Kevin Philips has, can you remember all the hassle we got when Brum scored a late goal at Hillsborough, bet you wished he hadn't now.

I just hate Kevin Phillips.

Brum will come straight back down next season due to the fact they have scraped by this season. The Prem teams will be able to unlock their defence and will struggle even more than this season to score.

I reckon they will finish below the other two promoted teams - whoever the play-off winner is.

Without a massive amount of good fortune, Brum and the playoff winner will most likely come straight back down, particularly with the month's delay in planning for next season for the playoff winner.

It is possible Stoke will plummet next season now other teams will be ready for them... and whichever of the north east clubs that survives... there are a lot of very average sides in the bottom half of the PL...

I must say it is quite amusing. Every decision in the Tevez affair went against West Ham, yet it was all United's fault, and we're merely litigious gets.

Sometimes I despair about others' sanity.

Part of me agrees, but part of me also thinks that, with the possibility of two established Prem teams going down, and the likes of Blackburn, Portsmouth etc. not really pulling any trees up, the Prem, I reckon, will possibly be easier to stay in for a promoted side than ever before.

I don't think Stoke will plummet because Pulis is a very shrewd manager. He's willing to adapt his team and tactics to suit who they play. He knows his teams strengths and appears to have a plan B, C etc. Which is why Mowbray has failed at West Brom. He wants to manage a "footballing" side which is all well and good in the Championship - but in the Prem you need a balance.

Apart from maybe Arsenal and Villa, who can get away with playing football, the others all have the ability to pass it, but also do the dirty work when called upon.

Plus my girlfriend is a Stoke fan, so I could do with them staying up to keep her happy! :hihi:

I think a lot depends on who comes down with WBA. If Newcastle go with Middlesboghorror or Sunderland, the bottom half of next year's Premiership looks very weak, and could be a year where consolidation is easier.

I quite agree.

People agree that West Ham were in the wrong, but then slag us off for keeping it going and dragging it out.

The F.A. and Premier League probably expected us to drop it eventually as we're just a little club from the north of England who everyone would forget about.

The fact is, they ballsed it up at the very first hurdle and never thought that they would be shown up for what they are.

So, whilst everyone is moaning at the Blades for dragging it out, it looks like it could've highlighted many flaws and dodgy dealings that go on at the top of the football league.

I think you're probably right, but if Hull survive, they'd remind me a bit of Bradford when they scraped up nearly ten years ago.

If Middlesboghorror go with Newcastle, that bottom of the table looks a lot more open for promoted sides to stay up, I reckon.

The hierarchy at the FL have already proved, in my opinion, that they are as corrupt as they can be. Some highly publicised decisions have been totally wrong, and they just smile and look the other way.
West Ham's was one, and I reckon Morgan's was another.
Lord knows how many others that we in Sheffield don't get to hear about. :suspect:

Well, look at what happened to Morgs in the Prem:

Against Villa, he gets slogged in the face and given a black eye by Angel, which should have been a straight sending off, but doesn't even get a yellow which, to the rational amongst us, would mean that the ref didn't see it. It goes to the F.A. who consult the ref, he says he saw it which, in their eyes, means he's dealt with it on the pitch and nothing comes of it.

The next game against Wigan, McCulloch (or however you spell it) does exactly the same to him, giving him a black eye on the other side. This goes to the F.A. and he's banned for three games.

The difference appearing to be that Villa are a well establish Prem side and Wigan are just, yet again, another little northern side.

Well, firstly, the FL had nothing to do with what happened with us and West Ham, and I have always said that I can't believe that Morgan only got a yellow card for that elbow, intent or not.

D'Urso had already been waving cards about, which may well be why a red wasn't shown. Little consolation for Barnsley, but I'll certainly go as far as to say that had there been a red card shown (as I believe it should have been), none of this would even be being discussed.

And to Morgan's credit, he went straight on the TV and said 'It's a contact game. Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.", or words to that effect.

No, he said how there was no hard feelings toward McCulloch as he'd gone in to the Blades' dressing room after and apologised in person to Morgs. Morgs then, in his interview, said there was no hard feelings because he was man enough to admit to what he'd done and that yes, it is contact sport etc.

I think it was a bit of a go at what happened with Angel and Villa.

Just to revisit this statement, the reason I brought the Morgs vs Villa/Wigan situation up was to highlight the inconsistency with the F.A. and certian clubs.

I wasn't trying to defend him, was just saying how funny it is that one player is punished and is from a little northern club and the other doesn't and he plays for a well established Prem team.
