Hi, does anyone have any info or pictures of the windmill that was situated in anston? It stood somewhere around where my house is built. All I know is that it was dimolished around 1937.

It was on WINDMILL RD in Anston I think.........not sure where though

ive done a bit of research on the net and found a map from 1854 and the windmill is on the map its actually at the very highest point on the hill which is above windmill road, it was situated to the north side of woosetts road it does look like it would be around windermere court if you draw the roads in on the map, thanks anyway

There is a picture of the windmill in a book entitled 'Aspects of Rotherham' -No.3 in the series. There is a paragraph about it. I was researching this myself being 'into' local history in the nearby village of Woodsetts. Hope all this helps.
