Not if you have a cable coming to the computer from your router. If you don't have a cable you will need to connect using a wireless card or wireless usb dongle (i think that's the name for them). mh01 01-05-2009, 17:25 im new to all this pc stuff so im not sure whats what, im connected to the internet via a bt home hub which is connected to the phone socket but now iv just recieved a wireless dongle (usb adapter) so will plugging in the dongle make any difference? DR_PC 01-05-2009, 17:28 no, the dongle is for if you get a second PC or laptop. mh01 01-05-2009, 17:37 no, the dongle is for if you get a second PC or laptop.cheers dr pc:thumbsup: mh01 04-05-2009, 02:44 thanks for the advice to those that replied:thumbsup: kenthack 04-05-2009, 10:38 you can allways plug it into your comp and set it up that way you can remove the cable between the comp and modem the modem i got with talktalk is a picture frame and is sat downstairs near the main phone box (always better than being plugged into extensions) all comps in house connect via wireless just use a net cable for setting up when needed havent found any difference between cable and wi-fi in performance |
