View Full Version : Fuming Rant about Greenday tickets
Hubby managed to get through this morning to buy our Greenday tickets, but the lady says we were only allowed to buy two per name, per card and she wouldn't allow me to stay on the line and book one more ticket for our son (13) in my own name & card we'd have to hang up and start again. So was very helpful, placing mine and hubby's seats in such a place that we 'should' be able to get our lad's seat on either side of us. Fair enough.
An hour of trying later, we finally managed to get through to the box office only to be told there was no seat in the vacinity!
So now I'm having to give up my ticket as we'd promised that we'd take him when they next toured
We've never had a problem buying 3 tickets to sit us all together. I'm so cross!
swordfish1 01-05-2009, 12:08 I know it's a pain, but it's probably been done to restrict touting. Which can only be a good thing. I'm sick to death of tickets going on sale and not being able to get on a computer or phone within 30 mins of the start time, just to find people selling 8 tickets on ebay an hour later for twice the price (eg Nine inch nails...grrrr).
I don't think it's the best method to restrict it though. Maybe Glastonbury got it right with the ID method.
At the Tom Waits gig I went to they only allowed 2 tickets to be bought as well as wanting the surname of your guest so they could print it on the ticket. They then asked for ID.....or at least that was the plan but the ticket printers fooked it up completely :)
haddockman 01-05-2009, 14:15 It's rubbish! Same at Manchester, we tried getting 4 tickets, 2 x 2 people so we could all sit together, but when I tried to buy it had sold out, so now two are going and even if we do manage to get tickets, they'll be in a totally different place to our friends :(
Luckily I did manage to get two standing tickets for the Sheffield one though!

I think you're right on all counts there.
BasilRathbon 01-05-2009, 15:32 Seats - at a rock concert? It's a long time since I went to a rock concert but surely they still have a moshpit?
of course they do, but it's not the best place for a tiny 13yr kid - he would be squished. I have a feeling you have to be over 14 to be in the pit...but he's such a small lad he wouldn't see a great deal. He'll have all the fun of the pit when he's older when it won't be so cool to hang out with a couple of aging rockers LOL
paranoid 01-05-2009, 16:25 a moshpit at a green day gig?
they're not going to see lamb of god! he he
i hear what you're saying - it was ridiculous how quickly the tickets sold out and how difficult it was to order them online or over the phone. what makes it even worse is that you look on seatwave.com 10 minutes later and people are already selling them at double the price while the legitimate fans can't get hold of them
We rang everywhere to try get tickets. My OH got thru then they said he needs to register online before buying. he tried but it kepttiming out so we are ticketless
paranoid 01-05-2009, 17:42 yes, the web site was appalling. it just kept timing out. i managed to get a pair of standing tickets and then the site stopped responding so i had to start again :gag:
i had to settle for a pair of seated tickets, which doesn't really bother me because you can sometimes get a better view of the band instead of getting bumped in to every 5 seconds by 14 year old girls screaming for billy joe
shells2909 02-05-2009, 19:48 We managed to book tickets at 7.30pm last night for my mate - and her seats are better than the ones i booked at 10.15am yesterday morning :suspect::confused:
