what is korfball?
anyone care to offer a quick description for me?

I work at Sheff Hallam Uni and I know that they have a least one korfball team. You might have to be a student to play though. Im sure if you get in touch with them they will be able to point you in the right direction. Only thing is, as the students have gone home you may have to wait till September till you can get in touch with them.

I think its like a cross between basketball net ball, that sort of thing

I've sent you a PM. I'm in Sheffield Trotters a local Korfball team and we're looking for new members! We're starting training again in September and will be having an open day for beginners sometime nearer to then (time and date to be confirmed).
