I have a belly pork joint and some tuna fushcakes in the freezer that were bought near the end of their sell by date.. but can obviously be frozen and used within a month as the label states.

They are past a month.. are they still ok to use? I'm pretty good usually with dates, but don't like waste..

As long as your freezer works properly (below -18 celcius) They'll be fine, freezing stops bacterial growth in food so food poisoning isn't a problem.

3 months is supposedly the limit, but at home, i'd eat owt from the freezer as long as it hasn't suffered from freezer burn (which happens when food isn't covered properly)

I leave stuff in the freezer for bloody ages, it does depend on your freezer though, is it a good one?

It's a Hinari lifestyle slim fridge freezer. One of these. About a year old. Only defrosted it once in a year, it doesn't ice up, so I presume the temp hasn't dropped enough yet to frost back up! It's done me well up to now

it has a 4 star freezer so sure it will be fine! It's people who stick prawns in the ice box of their fridge for 3 years then wonder why they get ill that you need to watch for!
