Hi,
I have recently found a lot of websites un-viewable. There is a blank screen with a red cross in the top left hand corner. I'm presuming there should be a image there.
Anyone know what this is?
Ta
Er, no.
Right click on the red cross and see what it is, i.e. the url etc... Go a bit Sherlock Holmes on the job.
if its happening with a lot of websites it might be that youve been infected with spyware and that your hosts file has been modified.
i would suggest running spybot/ms antispyware/hijack this! and seeing if theres any abnormalaties about.
could also, just be that - the site you are viewing doesnt have working html.

Have a look at your security content settings and your Windows Explorer settings as they can often block some picture content.
There may also be a memory problem with large images and your cache being full.
Worth right clicking and selecting "Show picture" to see if anything is there.
Can you give us an example of one of the sites that doesn't work? Then we can see if it's something odd like maybe Flash sites that don't have any html behind them, etc etc.

Well, all four of those links have Flash content in... But I wouldn't expect that to break the whole page! Might be worth grabbing the latest player from Macromedia (http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW) and giving that a try. Can you see any Flash content at all on any pages?
