I blame the chavs for nicking it, and the bluddie students as well, not forgetting them damned bus drivers who will no doubt had a hand in it...swines the lot of em.....:D :D :D

I do sympathise with you though Carl, my daughter has had three go missing inside two years, so now she just dumps her rubbish into someone else's bin.

If you speak to Onyx they'll help. Mine went for a wander a couple of months ago (turned out it'd just run off down the road when it was windy and one of my neighbours got it), but when I phoned them they said that the bin wagon eats quite a few wheelies and they'd replace it for free.

Think I just got the number out of the phone book.

Our wheelie bin's been pinched before too, a couple of years ago. Next door's bin has been nicked twice and he doesn't bother with one now. Could be someone taking them away to have a look through them, to see if there's any personal information they can get. Wouldn't suprise me.

my guess is that they are being nicked to be set on fire

When my bin disappeared one day I was baffled, I went looking on bits of wasteland near my house and managed to find another one to replace it.

Bin lorry once had eaten my bin but luckly next door spotted it and the bin men reported it and onyx delivered one the next day (very nice of onyx)

I never did find out what happened to my bin but at least I was able to give a sadly neglected and abandoned bin a new home. I often like to think that my bin escaped to the nearby river and ended up living by the sea.

So this is why people put there house numbner on the bins, if you find a stray one can i have it? "A bin is for life not just for Christmas"

Looks like you've got all the information you need.

The only thing I can add to anyone reading this topic is that if you've got a large family you can get a bigger bin. I've got five children so I just phoned up (it was the council at the time) and they took the old one and replaced it with a supersize brand new one.

In fact it was so nice that before we started using it for it's proper purpose I'd put two of my daughters in at a time and wheel them round the garden.

My bin's been eaten as well but replaced without any problems - nice when things run efficiently.

My grandson has moved into a new house & there was no Gray bin & his Mum phoned our council & they want £15 to deliver it,even though she told them there was no bin at the property, that's greed for you.But she can have it for free if she collects it herself.
