jellybellybean 24-04-2009, 13:45 I didn't really look pregnant until about 25weeks, and even then it wasn't that noticable especially if I didn't have a fitted top on!
If you are carrying a lot of fluid then you may get a bump quite early on. The baby itself is tiny so it will be the fluid that is bloating you at the moment. I found my clothes felt tighter quite quickly but I can still get in my trousers, although they are starting to feel a bit tight. I'm 17 weeks pregnant now. People who don't know can't tell I'm pregnant although they probably would think I've got a bit of a belly on me!
The uterus is hidden inside the pelvis until 12 weeks - its at that time we would just expect it to be palpable above the brim of the pelvis - so any 'bump' at this stage will not be due to your uterus as it's tucked neatly away.
GoGo_dancer 27-04-2009, 08:27 Hi Spotty, hope you're doing ok.
I'm retaining lots of water so all my clothes are feeling tight too. I wasn't too bad yesterday and was sucking my stomach in and there was definitely no bump, just lots of fluid.
Had to dig out my pre-holiday diet clothes for work though, and I'm blaming the baggy clothes on pigging out on the all-inclusive while I was away! It's working so far!
I was at a wedding on Friday and was wearing a fitted skirt and baggy tunic top, by mid-day I was in agony with the skirt almost cutting me in half even though I bought the next size up, had to keep getting up and going for a walk so I could breathe!

what will it be then?!!...
*Peaches* 27-04-2009, 13:18 I found I started to swell around 8 weeks, I just thought I was getting fat :hihi:
I had a noticable bump from about 16 weeks onwards
claire1976 27-04-2009, 15:22 I'm 19 weeks now and just starting have a proper bump. To anyone else though I probably just look like I've eaten a big meal!
Everyone's different though and bumps show more on slim people early on.

im 7 weeks and my scan is on 21st may......and i have a bump too.i maybe further on than what i think(but i doubt it as i had a period)or there maybe two!!!but i remember showing really early on with my 1st pregnancy as well.
Dominique24 06-05-2009, 15:13 So you think its normal then all very new to me you see
spotty dog 06-05-2009, 15:19 So you think its normal then all very new to me you see
depends what you define normal as!!
Dominique24 06-05-2009, 15:27 lol I'm not entirely sure you see. I found out i was pregnant really early on and the last week hasn't been much fun, i've started to show (which was a suprise cause I wasn't expecting to show for ages yet), having what can only be described as period pains (which is really unusal as i have been rather lucky and never suffered with them) so am guessing this is the "norm" too having the whole morning sickness (at like 3am) which wakes up in the night - so i guess my question is, is it all this normal to a point where I should worry something maybe wrong or is it Ok to have all that going on? Think I'm just after a little re-assurance (to be honest) x
spotty dog 06-05-2009, 15:36 its fine to have all that going on!!!in the first trimester your hormones are going crazy, your baby is developing all its organs and features etc...the placenta is also forming......
i started to show a week after i found out.i also felt sick from day one...and still do,every day...it goes away for an hour or so at a time but then comes back again....
you will also get period like pains as your stomach is stretching and adapting to motherhood.....check out the thred "first trimester megathread"....you will see on there that we all worry from time to time........
but be re-assured you are as "normal"as they come!!
Dominique24 06-05-2009, 15:44 Thanks you've made me feel so much better. Thanks again off now. Bye xxxx
