I went to the Lyceum last night to see The Tempest - it was absolutely stunning. A collaboration between the Royal Shakespeare Company and South African, Baxter Theatre Centre, the visual imagery was captivating and wonderfully relentless. If you think Shakespeare a bit dry, you have 3 days left to be proved wrong.

Curse you. I want to go now, but my entertainment spending so far this summer has ensured that I will be spending the winter eating cold baked beans out of a tin and burning books to stay warm.

William Shakespeare is the BEST!

Gutted I missed it, my ticket went to waste last night as I couldn't get a sitter at the last minute and was too late to donate it to anyone.:(

Been there, done that :hihi: I don't get to the theatre often (or get an evening out full stop) but went last night in a group and the ticket cost under £14 - often costs more than that to see a band or have a meal out.

If it's any consolation, I know of two other people who were in a similar position and so couldn't make it last night. Pity that theatre tickets aren't transferrable to another night if there are seats available.

I've only just discovered your ''Unofficial Theatre Meet'' thread, Dark Moomin. I was with a different group and completely unaware of the SF contingent. I'm now thinking back and trying to work out which lot you were :suspect:
