Hey.
Would anybody know what the rough cost is to rewire a 3 bedroom semi?
I am in the process of buying a house, and it needs a bit of work doing to it.
Cheers!

If your looking to get someone from Yellow Pages aroud 3k - find a friend who is an electrician (im guessing by your post you dont have one - so make friends with an electrician)
Cost me to do out a 2 bed terraced in the region of 300 quid for materials, dident worry about labour as I did it meself, then probably £150 worth of plaster to tidy it all up. Electricans will charge about £50-75 a day in labour, maybe more, plus materials, so i'd say £1k ish?

Ten years ago I charged £600 for a two-bed semi, so prolly a grand today.

we just had ours partially re-wired (sockets and switches) and that cost £1,200 and that was friend of a friend. Could of done it cheaper by electricians who were not part P (similar to corgi for gas) but by jan this year it is law you must have someone who is registered or have building standards come round and check its ok (£160 a time to do this)
id say your looking at £2300 ish

I believe you are not allowed to do that now as all electrical work has to be done by a qualified electritian. Health & safety and all that.

I've had to get involved with all this recently when I sold my flat. It's all a bit confusing, you can do somethings yourself but not others. Check out http://www.partp.co.uk/
