Not sure about sheffield but have come across shows in
Elsecarr (barnsley)
Lincs show ground

try doing a general google search...

is your cat a pedigree or a mog ?
some shows have classes for mogs...

with some pedigree breeders - I think you have to have permission from breeder to show although I'm sure they couldn't enforce this ?

hope this helps

A Championship Cat show is being held this Saturday 16th April 2011 at Thomas Chambers Newton Memorial Hall, Cowley Lane, Chapeltown, Sheffield, S35 1SX

Visitors welcome from 12.30- 4.00 admission £2.50 adults/£1 Children & OAPs.

Come along and see some very fine cats including the winner of the Supreme Cat Show 2010, which is the feline equivalent of Crufts.

Too late to enter but would be a nice day out for any cat lover.

The cat show on Saturday 16th April is a Birman breed show but there will also be Siberians, Non peds, Pedigree pets and the Supreme winner who is a huge very fabulous Main Coon.

I also manage the Yorkshire CCC all breed show which is being held at the Dome in Doncaster on 22nd October. If anyone wants to enter their pet cat, schedules will be available later in the year.

Would love to see the Maine coon! I might be interested in showing 1 or 2 of my ragdolls in October :)

That will be brilliant...schedules will be available to download from The Yorkshire Cat Club website in August. Yes the Main Coon lad is well worth seeing...very impressive.

hoping to go too to look - and to ohh and ahh over the furries as I'm a sucker for SLH, what with our 3 wegies and our maine coon girl Amber. Usually a few stalls selling cat stuff at these shows too. Went to one at Chapeltown a couple of years ago but there were hardly any cats at that one (Cornish rexes and a few siamese), so hoping this one is a bit more lively. Last time we went to one with SLHs, one of the lovely Siberian owners actually let us stroke his cat. I know its a big no no usually for fear of transferring infection but we were very careful to make sure we had antibac hand gel.

most of the local shows tend to be in the Autumn including the one at Doncaster Dome and the one up at Concord Sports centre. and then before you know it its the Supreme at the NEC, so tends to be an expensive few weeks for us, stocking up on bargain food and goodies...
